Mission Statement
VCLC’s mission is to support adults to achieve personal goals and very young children to achieve pre-literacy skills through Literacy services provided to families free of charge.
Vision
We envision a Valencia County in which all residents have the literacy skills they need to achieve their own dreams and to enhance their families and communities’ quality of life.
Classes
Valencia County Literacy Council provides classes in a variety of locations across Valencia county to make it convenient for you to attend.
Virtual Learning
We have resources available online. Transparent Language has over 150 different languages to learn Free with your library card from the Belen Public Library.
Tutors
Our volunteer tutors are ESL ProLiteracy certified. Tutors teach adults to read, write, and speak English, basic numeracy, and more.

Friends of the Belen Public Library Donates to VCLC
The Friends of the Belen Public Library recently made a donation to the Valencia County Literacy Council. Their goal is to advance literacy in our local area so they donated $200 to three organizations and we were one of those.
